VERDICT AND SENTENCING
Having heard both sides of the case, the judge will announce his/her verdict. He/she may or may not comment as to the reasoning behind the decision. If he/she does comment, listen and learn.Hopefully, the judge will say, "Dismissed," or, "Not guilty." This means you have won. Congratulations!
If the judge says, "Guilty," then you have lost and the judge will pronounce sentence. Typically this will be the amount of the bail. In some cases the judge may see at least part of your side of the case and reduce the fine; this is a partial victory even though the ticket still goes on your record.
If the judge finds you guilty, you may wish to file an appeal. (Coming soon to this site.)
Now that you know the procedure, let's take a look at strategy.
