You and the Respondent each have the option of attending the Oral Arguments Hearing or submitting on the record. As a rule I choose to attend.
Some courts (e.g., Los Angeles) will let you call in the day before the scheduled hearing to get the preliminary decision. You can then let them know whether you plan to come in for the hearing. If your court offers this option, it pays to call.
Should you choose to appear be aware of the fact that you will appear in front of a panel of three judges.
Some weeks after the Oral Arguments, the judges will issue their decision.
